Race 6 – ROYAL HOTEL TROPHY RACE (2) HANDICAP - 1600 metres:

C.Jones, rider of third placegetter Tuscany Lad, viewed the stewards patrol film before deciding not to lodge an objection.

A.Gauci, rider of second placegetter Mick’s Gift, lodged an objection against first placed past the post Bellman True, alleging interference over the final 100m. It was established that near the 100m, C.Douglas, rider of Bellman True, momentarily lost the use of his outside rein, and as a result his mount shifted in towards Mick’s Gift, which was then in turn crowded onto Tuscany Lad. As the stewards could not be satisfied that the interference suffered was greater than the margin, the protest was dismissed and correct weight was declared. A.Gauciwas notified that his objection was borderline frivolous.

On arrival at the barriers, Malikonjo made heavy contact with the starting stalls. Malikonjo was examined by the clubs veterinary surgeon and passed fit to run.

Air Glide jumped away awkwardly.
