Mr Tyson Buck rode two winners (Cape Danger & Winglesia) respectively on today’s programme and as a result is no longer a claiming picnic rider.

Isle Of Elba jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and bumped Coldstream Hill.

Indyking  layed in under pressure in the straight.

Patrick Kelly, rider of Isle Of Elba and Anthony Boyd rider of Indyking were reminded of their obligations under the provisons of  AR.137.A(3) with respect to unnecessary use of the whip.

Race 2 – michael ‘too many’ coffey bucks stakes open trophy race - 1000 metres:  Due to a misunderstanding on behalf of Mr Terry Carson, trainer of Golden Mistress regarding the engagement of a rider for the mare, stewards permitted  Ben Wade to ride the mare.

Volta De Pe knuckled on jumping away.

Approaching the 300 metres Just Kurrupt had to be eased to avoid the heels of Champion Chestnut when tightened for room between Doraemon which when weakening shifted out slightly and Champion Chestnut which shifted in (Mr John Fitzgerald).  Mr John Fitzgerald was issued with a reprimand and notified to exercise far greater care when shifting ground in future.

Mr Anthony Boyd was issued with a severe reprimand for weighing in one kilogram over his declared riding weight on Doraemon.

Race 3 – ken reid memorial trophy race (3) Hcp - 1000 metres:  On jumping away Forbidden was tightened for room between Order of Victory and Sir Dee which both shifted ground.

Sir Dee was obliged to race wide in the early stages and was then taken out further rounding the home turn by Purple Zar which shifted out.

Race 4 – woolamai volunteers open trohpy race hcp - 1700 metres:  Trojan Of Troy jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

Race 5 – oamps insurance trophy race (1) HCP - 1500 metres:  Acting on a confirmed telephone call from Ms Catherine Jordan, trainer of Leica Bundy who advised the stewards that gelding was lame and unfit to start, stewards ordered the withdrawal of Leica Bundy at 10.10am.  Ms Catherine Jordan will submit a veterinary certificate with respect to the gelding.

High Czarmonty jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and hampered Agent Frost.

After passing the 600 metres Gold Viper lost its footing behind, became unbalanced and lost considerable ground.

Mr Tyson Buck, rider of Cheeky Wizard which performed below expectations explained to the stewards that the gelding was forced to race wide throughout the event and failed to respond to his riding from the 300 metres.  He further added that on returning to scale Cheeky Wizard felt normal in its action.

A post race veterinary examination of Gold Viper revealed no abnormalities.

Race 6 – ALAN CARMIChael Memorial open trophy race hcp – 1500 metres:  Prior to the running of this race the Stewards and riders representative Mr Malcolm Pay undertook and inspection of a section of track near the 600m.  The Stewards and Mr Pay were satisfied that the track was safe to continue racing and in consultation with all riders the meeting proceeded.

Time To Pay which had been slightly slow to being was then brushed by Sunboy Tiger which shifted out.

Irish Gun raced wide in the early stages.

Near the 500m Sunboy Tiger raced tight on the inside of Sheza Ranga (Mr Leigh Taylor) which shifted in slightly, resulting in Sunboy Tiger brushing the running rail. Mr Leigh Taylor was notified to ensure that he leaves sufficient room for runners to his inside when in similar circumstances in future.

Mr Adam Bodey, rider of Blue Vein which performed below market expectations explained to the stewards that he elected to settle the gelding in a midfield position in an attempt to aid the gelding in carrying today’s big weight of 69kg.  He further added that in his opinion Blue Vein failed to finish his race off strongly.  A subsequent veterinary examination of Blue Vein revealed no abnormalities.
