Race 1 – high country bakehouse maiden handicap - 1100 metres:
Kincade jumped away awkwardly.
Shortly after the start Kincade had to be eased when tightened for room between Ge Te Dee and Ponter which shifted out.
At the entrance to the straight Leica Bundy had to change course to obtain clear running.
Prior to correct weight C Kirkpatrick rider of Leica Bundy (4 placegetter) wish to view the photo finish image for 3 placing. After viewing the print, C Kirkpatrick agreed with the judge’s placing’s and correct weight was notified.
A swab sample was taken from Gold Viper winner of the race.
Race 2 – Mansfield hotel maiden handicap - 1750 metres:

Race 3 – alzburg resort trophy race (1) - 1750 metres:
G Brunsdon rider of Fraar Too Bold was reprimanded for his use of the whip in the forehand manner prior to the 100m.
M Schrapel rider of secret journey which raced wide throughout the race stated to the Stewards the gelding had a tendency to overrace and lay out.
Race 4 – mansfield courier open trophy race - 1100 metres:
Prior to correct weight Stewards interviewed all riders regarding the start of the race in which Carlton Game was reluctant to jump away with the field and whether the gelding was denied a fair start. Stewards also took evidence from Mr B Adam Starter of the race. After acting on there own observations and viewing the Stewards patrol video stewards deemed Carlton Game a runner and correct weight was notified.
I was established that Carlton Game which was restless in its barrier stall stood flat footed and lost considerable ground.
Mr D Burgess Trainer of the gelding was notified an official warning would be placed against Carlton Game and should it behave in a similar manner in future it may lead to some action being taken.
Race 5 – marks supaiga mansfield picnic cup - 1200 metres:
Mr J Cunningham representing Mr T Bell trainer of Winning Big was notified an official warning would be placed against the gelding for its barrier behaviour and that before Winning Big would be permitted to start again, he must trial to stewards satisfaction in and organised trial and at such time pass a barrier test.
Winning Big which was restless in its stall was examined by the clubs veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.
Winning bid jumped away awkwardly and lost ground (2L).
Acting on a report from Mr J Cunningham representing Mr T Bell trainer of Jockey Jack that the gelding had an injury to its near hind stifle and was unfit to start. Stewards withdrew Jockey Jack from the race at 11:45am
Race 6 – next paintingtrophy race(2) - 1200 metres:
Near the 900m Cheeky Wizard and Jimmy Terror were inconvenienced when tightened for room by Upstairsdownstairs (G Brunston) which shifted in abruptly when over racing. G Brunston was severely reprimanded and notified he must be clear of other runners when shifting ground in future.
After passing the 900m Upstairsdownstairs which continued to overrace had to be eased off the heels of Uncle Kev.
Stewards adjourned an inquiry into both J Fitzgerald rider of Jiminy Terror and A Bodey rider of Sir Dee use of the whip prior to the 100m to a date to be fixed.
A swab sample was taken from Uncle Kev winner of the race.
A Bodey rider of Sir Dee was reprimanded for weighing in 1kg over his declared weight.
