Other Comments / Explanations: Stewards accepted Mr R. Hellicar’s explanations for the late declarations of rider for Rosecoloredglasses for race 5. Race 1 – JUEL GARDINER MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1650 metres: Stewards accepted the explanation from C Shelly trainer of Teryshnikov for the use of the club colours. On returning to scale C Kirkpatrick rider of Teryshnikov reported that the gelding hung out and raced greenly throughout. Race 2 – MICHAEL BUSHE TROPHY RACE(3) HANDICAP - 1650 metres: As no suitable rider was available stewards allowed R Douglas rider of Tilleeva to ride the mare 1kg over its declared weight. Diaddison and Tilleeva were both slow to begin. Little Storm raced wide without cover in the middle stages. Approaching the 700 metres Tilleeva had to be checked off the heels of Tucker Road which when weakening shifted out resulting in Tilleeva over reacting and being taken wider on the track losing considerable ground. Sigvaldi was held up rounding the home turn. Jack’s Palace was momentarily held up rounding the home turn. Diaddison was held up for clear running over the concluding stages. S Cameron rider of Sigvaldi was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100 metres, two more times than permissible. S Cameron rider of Sigvaldi was reprimanded under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(i) for using the whip on three consecutive strides prior to the 100 metres. Race 3 – FABISH OPEN TROPHY HANDICAP - 1650 metres: Approaching the winning post on the first occasion Valmarina when over racing had to shift out to avoid the heels of Spiritueux. S Cameron rider of Lay Back Lad stated that he was held up for clear running prior to entering the straight. S Cameron rider of Lay Back Lad was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(i) for using the whip on consecutive strides prior to the 100 metres. S Sutherland rider of Spiritueux was reprimanded under the provision of AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100 metres, two more times than permissible. C Kirkpatrick rider of Valmarina was fined the sum of $100 under the provision of AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using the whip on nine occasions prior to the 100 metres, four more times than permissible. C Kirkpatrick rider of Valmarina was severely reprimanded under the provision of AR137A(5)(a)(i) for using the whip on five consecutive strides prior to the 100 metres. Race 4 – CMT 4 TROPHY RACE(2) HANDICAP - 1000 metres: Emmenaitch was marginally slow to begin. Race 5 – BRIAN BREN VBA/CRV PICNIC RACING SPRINTERS SERIES FINAL - 1200 metres: When questioned regarding the performance of Just Jorde, A Bodey stated that the gelding failed to quicken rounding the home turn with its heavy weight. A post race veterinary examination of Just Jorde which performed below market expectation revealed no abnormalities. S Cameron rider of Miss Rosehand was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(i) for using the whip on consecutive strides prior to the 100 metres. Race 6 – NO FUSS SOLUTIONS TROPHY RACE(1) HANDICAP - 1200 metres: Acting on a confirmed telephone call from B Akers, trainer of Mib, who stated that the gelding had taken skin of its near hind and was bleeding fairly badly and therefore unfit to race, Stewards authorised the late withdrawal of Mib at 1.40pm. B Akers will provide a veterinary certificate for Mib to the Stewards. Fraardinia raced wide without cover for the early and middle stages.
