Race 1 – bugsy’s green monster maiden handicap – 1050 metres: 

Emmenaitch was slow to begin. 

Bowling Along jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

Winglesia jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and hampered Indyking, resulting in Indyking losing ground.

Near the 500m Emmenaitch had to be eased to avoid the heels of Everday Girl. 

Emmenaitch was held up for a clear run rounding the home turn. 

Over the concluding stages Emmenaitch raced tight to the inside of Grande Soeur.

Race 2 – zealot films open trophy race - 1050 metres:  After being loaded in its barrier stall Volta De Pe broke through the front of the barriers and cantered a short distance before being restrained by its rider Mr Paul Koumis.  Volta De Pe was returned to the start and examined by the clubs veterinarian who passed the mare fit to start.

 Sheza Ranga stood flat footed and lost ground (15L).

Approaching the 800m Doraemon shifted out and hampered Narrnoo and Volta De Pe which was following.

Near the 600m Doraemon accidentally clipped the heels of Purple Zar.

Approaching the home turn Jugstar was held up when unable to obtain clear running.

Allison Sheehan trainer of Sheza Ranga was notified that she must be in possession of a barrier certificate for Sheza Ranga prior to the mare being permitted to race again.

Race 3 – huon health care peninsula manor trophy race (1) - 1200 metres: 

Promotion had to be eased to avoid the heels of Coriolis Force when the pace slowed near the 800 metres.

Ms Dani Walker rider of Rusty Mater accidentally dropped her whip near the 250 metres.

Promotion raced tight to the inside of Ladeedah Lass which shifted in over the concluding stages.

Prior to correct weight Mr Kane Harris rider of Promotion viewed the stewards patrol film before deciding not to proceed with an objection.

Race 4 – Jim’s test & Tag open trophy race - 1200 metres:  Like Thunder was slow to begin.

Mr Adam Bodey rider of Rapid Thrill accidentally dropped his whip near the 200 metres.

Rapid Thrill had a tendency to lay in in the straight.

When questioned regarding the poor performance of Golden Mistress, Mr John Fitzgerald rider of the mare explained to the stewards that the mare travelled well until the 400 metres however when put under pressure she failed to respond to his riding.

Race 5 – molly houlahan memorial open trophy race - 1600 metres:  Acting on a confirmed telephone call from Darryl Horner, trainer of Texan Tea who stated to the stewards that the gelding was suffering from a hoof abscess and was unfit to start, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Texan Tea at 7.53am.

Race 6 – underground winemakers trophy race (2) - 1600 metres:  Ben Cruachan began awkwardly.

Near the 300 metres Time To Pay had to be eased to avoid the heels of Cheeky Wizard which shifted in under pressure.

Tyson Buck, rider of Cheeky Wizard was issued with a reprimand under the provisions of AR.137A(5)(a)(ii)for using his whip on two more occasions in a forehand manner than is permitted prior to the 100m, and also reprimanded under the provisions of AR.137A(5)(a)(i) for using his whip in consecutive strides on one more occasion than is permitted.

Kane Harris, rider of Valmarina was issued with a reprimand under the provisions of AR.137A(5)(a)(ii)for using his whip in a forehand manner on two more occasions than is permitted prior to the 100m.  Kane Harris was also reprimanded under the provisions of AR.137A(5)(a)(i) for using his whip in consecutive strides on one occasion prior to the 100m.

Tyson Buck rider of Cheeky Wizard was severely reprimanded for his celebratory gesture prior to the winning post.

Adjourned Inquiries:

Stewards today concluded an adjourned inquiry from the meeting at Mansfield on Tuesday 3 November 2009.  Mr Adam Bodey rider of Sir Dee was issued with a reprimand for using his whip on one more occasion than is permitted prior to the 100m and was also reprimanded for using his whip in consecutive strides on one more occasion than is permitted.  Mr John Fitzgerald rider of was reminded of his obligations under the current whip rules with respect to his use of the whip prior to the 100m.
