Riders Comments / Explanations:
Patrick Kelly, who incurred a 7 meeting suspension at Woolamai on Saturday 13 February beginning midnight 14 February, made application to the Stewards to commence his suspension from midnight 13 February, as his rides at Alexandra today had been scratched. After consulting with the Stewards panel from Woolamai, Stewards acceded to P Kelly’s request, with his suspension to now conclude midnight Saturday 13 March, 2010.
Under the provisions of AR.101A Mr Harold Bacon, approved rider, was fined the sum of $200 for placing a bet at a race meeting where he was engaged to ride. In determining penalty Stewards took into account his forthright evidence, that he only last season returned to racing after an absence of several years and that the bet placed was not in a race in which he was engaged to ride.
Race 1 – ALEXANDRA VETERINARY CLINIC OPEN TROPHY - 1950 metres:
Approaching the 150m Super Shag and More Zip brushed when both horses shifted ground slightly.
Race 2 – THE CORAL TROPHY (2) HANDICAP - 1540 metres:
Acting on a confirmed telephone call from the Trainer’s Service Centre that as Harpo had gained a start at the Kilmore race meeting today trainer Mr. Stan Shambrook had requested the gelding to be scratched from Alexandra.
Stewards acceded to Mr Shambrook’s request, however notified him that he should be more aware of his runners circumstances in future.
Illegal Entry had a tendency to lay out from the 800m to the early part of the straight. Mr R Kirkpatrick, rider of the gelding, stated to the Stewards that Illegal Entry didn’t handle to track conditions and would now be sent for a spell.
Race 3 – LT. COL. MAYGAR VC FILLIES & MARES MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1540 metres:

Race 4 – THE INNESKILLEN OPEN TROPHY - 1300 metres:
Near the 500m Broadarrowbilly (Mr. G Brunsdon) which had a tendency to lay in, shifted in, hampering Stratton Place. G Brunsdon was severely reprimanded for shifting ground and advised to exercise far more care in future.
Carlton Game raced wide without cover throughout.
Mr A Bodey, rider of Carlton Game, was severely reprimanded for weighing in 1kg over his declared weight. In determining penalty Stewards took into account the circumstances and that A Bodey has a good record in this area.
Race 5 – REDDROPS FOODWORKS ALEXANDRA MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1300 metres:
Delta Dane raced wide in the middle and later stages.
Race 6 – LEST WE FORGET TROPHY (2) HANDICAP - 1300 metres:
Three At Ten stood flat-footed and lost ground (3 lengths).
Mr. T Miles, trainer of New Land and Mr. B Akers, trainer of Three At Ten, were both severely reprimanded for presenting their respective horses into the mounting yard without their approved gear.
