Race 1 – philip webb real estate maiden handicap - 1600 metres:

Shortly after the start, Ivory Sands shifted in and bumped Burramine Legend.

After passing the 800 metres, and having tested the mare which failed to respond to his efforts, Mr S McGovern, rider of Encore Rose, elected to ease the mare down. A veterinary examination of the mare subsequent to the race revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will notify Mr A Holmes, trainer of Encore Rose, that due to the mare being uncompetitive, a warning would be placed on the mare that should she perform in a similar manner in the future, some further action may be taken.

In the early part of the straight, Burramine Legend had a tendency to lay in.

Race 2 – barry bros specialised service trophy (1) handicap - 1600 metres:

Stewards permitted Mr A Bodey, trainer of Jacksparrow, to withdraw the gelding from the race at 12.30 pm. Stewards accepted Mr Bodey’s explanation for his failure to scratch the gelding prior to the prescribed time this morning.

Prince Of Cards jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

Race 3 – murrindindi station ‘sister olive’ open trophy handicap - 3000 metres:

Following the running of the first two races, and due to the inconsistent nature of the track surface particularly close to the running rail, Stewards downgraded the track to a dead (4) at 2.35 pm.

Race 4 – ‘the sam oldfield stakes’ maiden handicap - 1200 metres:

At the start, Taut jumped outwards and bumped St Gallus, which jumped inwards.

Race 5 – charman partners yea cup 2008 - 2100 metres:

Near the 150 metres, Mr K Harris, rider of Galactic Song, accidentally dropped his whip, leaving him at a disadvantage over the concluding stages of the race.

Race 6 – k & g labels open trophy handicap - 1200 metres:

As Mr S Wicks was indisposed, and as no other rider was available, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Brownies Gold at 4.00 pm. As betting had not commenced, no alterations were made to betting.

Coolibah Kid was slow to begin.

Running to the 800 metres, Rickitic had to be steadied off the heels of Honstar, which shifted in slightly.
