Other Comments / Explanations: All horses racing for a second time were passed by the club’s veterinary surgeon

Race 1 – w. j. cook & omeo rural & hardware maiden handicap - 1000 metres: On the home turn Eloquent Miss and Flaming Arch brushed due to both horses shifting ground.

In the straight Eloquent Miss shifted out and brushed Spanish Ruler out onto Lord Ensay. During this incident Mr. G. Pattison, rider of Eloquent Miss, lost his whip.

Race 2 – alpine airwork & hi fert open trophy handicap - 1000 metres: Mr. A. Boyd, rider of Grand Legend, explained that today his horse did not display his usual early pace and that in his opinion the horse raced below its best. A veterinary examination of the horse revealed no abnormalities.

Race 3 – mathew davis australia pty ltd open trophy handicap - 1600 metres: Throughout the race Leica Reason had a tendency to hang in. At the top of the straight Turning Yellah and Leica Reason bumped due to Turning Yellah (J. Fitzgerald) shifting out to obtain a run. J. Fitzgerald was advised to ensure there was sufficient room when attempting runs in future.

Race 4 – brian delaney & benambra hotel hinnomunjie cup - 2000 metres: Mr. A. Boyd, rider of Chatter Brooke, the winner of the race, was advised that he must ride all his mounts to the line in future.

Race 5 – mornington garden supplies & e gippsland road maintenance try 3 hcp - 1200 metres: Near the 800 metres Ferruzzano, which was racing erratically, shifted out and bumped Like Thunder on two occasions. On the home turn Urban Gypsy had to be eased off the heels of Right Note which shifted in slightly.

Race 6 – ryans asphalting & gamekeepers of australia open trophy handicap - 1200 metres: No report.
