Race 5 – DONVALE CRICKET CLUB OPEN TROPHY HANDICAP - 1650 metres: J Fitzgerald inadvertently appeared in the racebook as rider of Bonserada when C Pace had been engaged to ride the gelding.
Acting on a report from the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon who notified Stewards that Yonnie had injured itself when being unloaded from the horse float and was unfit to run, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of that gelding at 1.15pm.

Gunnagetit was slow to begin.
Lisa Andrews, rider of Turning Yallah, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that approaching the winning post on the first occasion she permitted her mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of Lycomedes, thereby taking that gelding in onto Bethel Bay, resulting in Lycomedes being tightened for room and then clipping the heels of Turning Yallah and Bethel Bay having to be checked. L Andrews was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight 3rd February 2008 and to expire midnight 22nd February 2008, a period of three picnic racemeetings. In arriving at penalty Stewards took into account the severity of the interference and L Andrews’ good riding record
