Race 1 – lyn’s big day out maiden handicap - 1650 metres: 

As B Wade had failed to arrive on course, Stewards permitted G Brunsdon to be the substitute rider for Waltzing Tyrant. Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reason for B Wade’s non arrival.

Prior to correct weight A Bodey, rider of second placegetter Port Phillip, viewed the Stewards patrol video before deciding not to lodge an objection.

On jumping away Port Phillip shifted out away from Waltzing Tyrant and hampered Barravore Lady.

Approaching the 300 metres Port Philip was held up when unable to obtain a clear run.

Near the 100 metres Waltzing Tyrant was inconvenienced by The Naughty Lad which shifted in slightly.

Race 2 – eastern tree service trophy race (2) handicap - 1000 metres: 

Court’s Order jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. After jumping away Cold Spring Wine threw its head in the air and lost considerable ground.

Near the 400 metres Barravore Lady was severely hampered and taken out off its course by No Reservations (J Moroni) which shifted out after working up onto the heels of Bon Bliss. After taking into account J Moroni’s inexperience, Stewards severely reprimanded J Moroni and notified her that she must ensure that she is two lengths clear when shifting ground in future. J Moroni was also stood down from riding in races until such time that she attends the Picnic Riding Skills Panel.

On pulling up K Harris, rider of Court’s Order, was dislodged. K Harris was examined by the Club’s Doctor and passed fit to fulfil his remaining engagements.

Race 3 – modec christmas trophy race (1) handicap  - 1200 metres: 

 Jacksparrow was slow to begin. Worthy Band laid out in the straight.

Race 4 – calendar cheese company open trophy race handicap - 1200 metres: 

Prior to correct weight P Koumis, rider of third placegetter Blue Dress, viewed the Stewards patrol video before deciding not to lodge an objection.

Rylock had a tendency to hang out rounding the home turn.

S Cerchi, rider of Hula Native, was severely reprimanded for his excessive use of the whip on that gelding. S Cerchi was stood down from riding in races until such time that he attends the Picnic Riding Skills Panel.

Race 5 – densal ploughboys trophy race (3) handicap - 1650 metres: 

Toro, which hung out throughout, was held up when unable to obtain a clear run from the 400 to the 300 metres.

Race 6 – hansen technology open trophy race handicap - 1650 metres: 

As B Wade had failed to arrive on course, Stewards permitted P. Tait to be the substitute rider for Waltzing Tyrant.

S Cerchi, rider of Tordacity, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that near the winning post on the first occasion he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of Leica Reason, resulting in that gelding having to be checked. S Cerchi was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence midnight 15th December 2007 to expire midnight 30th December 2007, a total of 3 picnic racemeetings. In arriving at penalty Stewards took into account S Cerchi’s guilty plea and that he had not been suspended for careless riding before.

Shortly after this incident, Tordacity threw its head up when being eased.

At the entrance to the straight, Tate Modern was severely hampered and became unbalanced when brushed on the hindquarters by Baltic Storm (J Moroni), which shifted out to obtain a run. J Moroni was severely reprimanded and notified to ensure that she has sufficient room when taking runs in future. J Moroni was also stood down from riding in races until such time that she attends the Picnic Riding Skills Panel.
