Riding Changes / Jockey Information - Nil Race 1 – BRIAN UNTHANK NORTH EAST FUEL BOGONG HOTEL TROPHY RACE (3) HANDICAP - 1650 metres: Stewards permitted Hasarni, which was also engaged for Race 3 at this meeting, to be scratched at 9.00am, due to today’s expected high temperatures. The start of the race was delayed due to the late arrival on course of the Club Doctor. After jumping away, Skybender attempted to buck for a short distance, and lost considerable ground. Mr. I Lister, trainer of Skybender, was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding, and that any repeat of this behaviour would lead to the horse being suspended from racing for a period. Race 2 – ALPINE ANGUS HAWKINS BUILDERS ORBIT LOGISTICS TROPHY RACE (1) HANDICAP - 1000 metres: Running to the 400 metres, both Banters Gold and Smokin’ Arch had to be eased to avoid the heels of other runners when over-racing. Race 3 – ELKS HUNTING SIMPSON TRANSPORT KIEWA CALF SCALES TROPHY RACE (2) HANDICAP - 1350 metres: Miracle Millie jumped away awkwardly. Prince Iceman jumped away awkwardly and lost considerable ground, and then during the middle stages of the race, when over-racing, had to be eased off the heels of Hasarni. Miracle Millie, which was racing ungenerously, raced wide in the middle stages of the race, rounding the home turn, and into the straight. Race 4 – HUME TRANSPORT DEDERANG HOTEL UNION HOTEL OPEN TROPHY RACE HANDICAP - 1350 metres: Pride Lander laid out rounding the turn at the 1000 metres. Race 5 – MILESTONE CHEMICALS DEDERANG CUP OPEN TROPHY RACE - 1650 metres: Prior to being placed in the barrier stalls, Bonserada, which struck the running rail on the way to the barriers, was examined by the Club’s veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. Near the 1350 metres, when the pace slackened, Forest Dash, which was racing on the heels of Bonserada, shifted out and hampered Ten In Texas. Rounding the turn at the 1000 metres, Forest Dash had a tendency to lay out. Race 6 – HEAT 2 ALPINE SHIRE CRV PICNIC RACING SPRINTERS SERIES - 1000 metres: Gala Evening was slow to begin.
