The stalls were then towed to the outside of the track and the field was able to pass through on the inside the stalls. Prior to weighing in all riders were interviewed in relation to whether the incident had hampered them or in any way affected the chances of their respective runners in the race. As all riders were of the opinion that the incident had not hampered them or affected their chances correct weight was notified.

Subsequent to the event the starter, Mr L. Sheedy, stated that on arrival at the starting point he raised that matter of getting the stalls off to the outside of the track and was  given an assurance that the staff were capable of removing the stalls in time and without incident. Stewards then interviewed club president, Mr B. Scanlan, and club secretary, Mr V.
