Near the 400 metres, Baltic Storm (Ms J. Moroni) shifted in and brushed Great Reason. Ms Moroni was notified that she must endeavour to keep her mount straight at all times.
Race 2 – olivia rabot memorial maiden handicap - 1200 metres: As A. Boyd was delayed en route to the course, stewards permitted L Taylor to be the substitute rider for Belasca.
Stewards placed a warning on Danzari after the filly proved unruly in the mounting yard and en route to the barriers. David Feek, representative for trainer Mr J. Warren, was advised that should Danzari perform in a similar manner in future further action could be taken against the filly.
Danzari and Rosebud Royal were both slow to begin. Fate Marable had a tendency to lay in down the straight resulting in its rider P Koumis being unable to ride the gelding out in his usual manner.
Race 3 – the w. (bill) tenner restricted trophy race (3) handicap - 1200 metres: Prior to the declaration of correct weight, S. McGovern, rider of second placegetter Carefully, viewed the photo finish and agreed with the judge’s placings.
Suppara jumped away awkwardly.
Approaching the 400 metres, Woolamai Miss was brushed and taken off its course by Octagonal’s Star (A. Bodey) which shifted out to obtain a run to the outside of Suppara, which was weakening. A. Bodey was notified to ensure he has sufficient room when taking runs in future.

When questioned regarding his riding of Esdene’s Sequel, K. Harris stated to the stewards that he attempted to ride the gelding back today as he had done at its previous start when the gelding ran second at Woolamai. Harris added that Esdene’s Sequel over-raced badly in the early stages and then hung out severely from near the 600 metres at which point he pulled his whip through from his left to right hand in an attempt to keep the horse racing straight. Harris further added that he felt Esdene’s Sequel was a beaten horse after straightening and for this reason he did not ride the gelding out in his normal manner. While accepting Harris’ explanation, Stewards notified him that he must ride all his mounts out at least hands and heels to the finish line in future.
Race 5 – maximilian elmer open trophy race handicap - 1600 metres: Subsequent to the running of Race 5, rider S.Wicks underwent a further examination by the club’s doctor and was stood down from his engagement in Race 6.
