Race 1 – navajo flash open trophy handicap - 2500 metres: No report.

Race 2 – john o’brien trophy 1. handicap - 1300 metres: Stewards accepted the explanation of Mr. K. Carrolan, Trainer of Carrawyanda for his failure to scratch the mare from this race by the prescribed time this morning. Stewards authorised the withdrawal of Carrawyanda at 9.22 a.m.

Stewards accepted the explanation from Mr. K. Harris for his dual riding engagement in this race.

Acting on a report from the starter that Sly Jester proved difficult to load, Stewards advised Mr. A. Fitzgerald, trainer of Sly Jester that the gelding would now be suspended from racing until it obtained a barrier test certificate at official trials.

Acting on a report from the starter that Pirate’s Maid proved difficult to load, Stewards placed a warning against the mare and notified trainer Mr G. Brunsdon that he must be in receipt of a barrier test certificate for Pirate’s Maid prior to that mare racing again.

Gunner Gris was slow to begin. Near the 1200 metres Barravore Lady was severely hampered when tightened by Sly Jester [ Mr. J. Fitzgerald } which was initially taken in by Woolamai Miss { Mr. S. Stoll } which shifted in. Sly Jester then continued to shift in slightly, further hampering Barravore Lady. Mr. S. Stoll, rider of Woolamai Miss was reprimanded and advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground and Mr. J. Fitzgerald, rider of Sly Jester was advised to exercise greater care when in similar circumstances in future.

Race 3 – tony noonan racing open trophy handicap - 1300 metres: Shortly after the start Douglas was tightened when Winning Dancer shifted out and Wintaker shifted in.

Winning Dancer laid out when making the home turn. Coolibah Kid laid in over the concluding stages of the race.

Subsequent to the running of the race, a veterinary examination of Encore Rose which had performed poorly revealed no abnormalities. Mr. A. Holmes, trainer of Encore Rose was advised that Encore Rose which had received a warning at it’s previous start when uncompetitive would not be permitted to race until the mare trialled to the satisfaction of Stewards.

Race 4 – terry o’brien trophy 1. handicap - 1540 metres: Runaway Lover laid in over the concluding stages of the race.

Race 5 – MARY NOONAN OPEN TROPHY HANDICAP - 1540 metres: Quantum Physics jumped away awkwardly and then attempted to buck for a short distance. Mr. B. Sharp, trainer of Quantum Physics was advised that a warning would be placed on Quantum Physics and a repeat of this behaviour by the gelding would result in action being taken.

Passing the 200 metres Quantum Physics and Honstar brushed when Honstar shifted in slightly under pressure.

Race 6 – JACK O’BRIEN OPEN TROPHY HANDICAP - 1950 metres: Corporate Coercion over raced near the 800 metres.

Subsequent to the running of the race, the Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that Fleeced had swelling in the near fore fetlock. Mr. R. Laing’s stable representative was advised that Mr. Laing would need to be in receipt of a veterinary certificate for Fleeced before that gelding race again.
