Drouin Cup News The annual Drouin Cup was run again on Boxing Day and despite the rain it was a good day of racing. Unfortunately the rain came around mid program and spoiled the relaxed atmosphere of the meeting where families tend to catchup post Christmas day.
Raymond Douglas got back into the winners circle with a double and was most unlucky not to claim a treble and the Drouin Cup. As he could not make the weight and was not permitted to ride 1kg over he was substituted late for Matthew Corbisiero and had to watch on the sidelines as this improving apprentice booted home the winner.

Mansfield News
Mansfield was a bit more fortunate with the weather and we also had a good track for the first time in ages at the picnics after it was upgrade from dead after race 1.
In what was a day of upsets four odds on favourites were beaten in some close finishes. Shiralee Waddell rode a double by showing lots of patience to then push her mounts through narrow openings to get up on the line. She is a very capable rider and you can always rely on her giving her mount every chance.
