ALEX MEETS AT LAST
With two of the three Alexandra Picnic Race Club meetings cancelled last year the committee were beginning to wonder when their luck would change and they would race again. Even this meeting had its early dramas with an overnight sprinkler on the adjacent golf course flooding water onto the track at the winning post. Thanks to the good work of track maintenance staff and some warm weather things were back in order before the beginning of the first race and stewards gave the all clear.

Given it was so long since a meeting was held at the track there was a large crowd in attendance and some of the biggest fields in a long time.

The winners were shared around amongst the jockeys with doubles to Adam Bodey and Craig Kirkpatrick.
