Riding honours yet again went to Adam Bodey who rode a double on Mary Goodnight and Coronation Prince. Punters were on the mark with three out of the six favourites winning and the remaining races won by horses well in the betting market.
There was an improved attendance at this meeting compared with recent years with patrons taking advantage of the fine weather to enjoy the day and help the Bunyip Fire Brigade given the gate takings were directed to that worthwhile cause.

Next week there is a "double header" of picnic racing with Healesville on the Saturday and Yea St Pats Cup on the Sunday. Both districts have been badly affected by fires and the clubs are seeking support from Picnic Racing followers to bring some much needed tourism back into their areas. Why not make a weekend of it and stay the night in Healesville before heading on up to Yea for the Sunday meeting. The local businesses would welcome anything you can do to spend in their areas to help them get back on their feet, why not re-stock your cellar by visting some of the local wineries on the way.
The on-line approximate odds racing service has not operated for the past two meetings given a lack of power at both Woolamai and Drouin where there is no eletricity supply for bookmakers. This service will be back to normal this weekend.
Good luck on the punt,
