The 2008/09 Picnic Racing season commences with the Flemington Derby Day meeting at Healesville. This will be the fourth year Healesville has conducted the meeting where it has grown in success each year. It may not be the real Derby Day meeting but you can enjoy the beginning of the Melbourne Cup carnival with family and friends in a fun atmosphere without the crowds and extra expense. Great Fun and Great Value racing can be had for $10 ($5 concession) entry fees compared to the $60 of Flemington. Combine that with being able to BYO beverages and catering and you are already a winner before the raceday betting has started.

Marquees located on the grassed area adjacent to the home straight can be booked if you wish to spend the day in style and the club can organise facilities through their preferred caterers.
